The Classical Period of ancient Greece (500-336 B.C.) was a time when the Greeks achieved new heights in art, architecture, theater, and philosophy. The Classical Period began with the Greek victory over the Persians and a new feeling of self-confidence in the Greek world. This was a war for freedom, and the Greeks would continue on, free from Persian rule.On one side it is depicted Apollo the god of light and music and on the other Aphrodite the goddess of love and beauty.
